OUR SOLUTION

In response to those challenges, Evonik has developed a comprehensive range of analytical solutions that equip you with precise and up-to-date nutritional data on feed ingredients and finished feeds. The AMINONIR® services use near infrared (NIR) spectrometry to determine key factors like amino acid contents.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

In NIR spectrometry, invisible near infrared light is beamed to a sample, causing molecules in the sample to vibrate. This interaction with the molecules consumes energy by absorbing elements of the introduced light. In the case of liquid samples, residual light passes through the material, while solid samples reflect the light. This light is measured with a detector and gives a spectrum.

The spectral information is further used and evaluated for example to identify unknown samples (fingerprinting) or to estimate its nutritional composition via the application of NIR calibrations.

CALIBRATION QUALITY IS KEY FOR THE BEST RESULTS

What makes AMINO‌NIR® services stand out is Evonik’s experience in calibration development.

In NIR calibration development, spectra of many typical samples of one material are combined with the corresponding values of an analytical reference method. The final calibration describes the correlation between the set of spectra and the reference values. By applying that correlation to spectra of further unknown samples, all calibrated parameters can be mathematically predicted.

The quality of reference analysis is critical to calibration accuracy. For this reason, reference labs must be inspected on a regular basis. Evonik’s reference lab – AMINOLab® – is a network of three wet-chemistry laboratories based in Germany, China and Singapore. Their accuracy and precision is monitored via regular independent ring tests as well as by internal control samples.

CUSTOMIZE AMINO‌NIR® TO YOUR REQUIREMENTS – WITH ADVANCED OPTIONS

To help you get the most out of AMINONIR® Advanced, Evonik offers a number of optional additional tools and services to use in conjunction with your NIR device. You can customize your analytical capabilities precisely according to your needs and preferences.

With AMINONIR® you can rapidly evaluate the digestibility of a meal by determining the ideal heat processing of soybean products, rapeseed meal and corn DDGS. Find the right heat to deactivate antinutritional factors like trypsin inhibitors without the risk of overheating.

AMINONIR® comes with a software plug-in for the industry to connect NIR systems directly to Evonik’s prediction network, allowing transfer of spectra, prediction and download of results from system to system in the background without any manual interaction.

AMINONIR® draws on data from proximates to enable quick and reliable estimates of energy parameters in feed ingredients and finished feeds. These include gross energy, digestible energy, metabolizable energy and net energy.

With AMINONIR®, Evonik also developed NIR calibrations for the prediction of fatty acids in feed ingredients. Fatty acids are important nutrients for animals and are used as building blocks for fat but also for the synthesis of important hormones needed for growth and reproduction.

Thanks to Evonik’s vast database, AMINO‌NIR® provides you with even deeper insights into the prediction of essential and non-essential amino acids (AA) for all major feed ingredients.

AMINONIR® also looks at a range of proximates or crude nutrients in feed ingredients as well as finished poultry, layer, pig and fish feeds. Parameters evaluated include dry matter, crude protein, ether extract, ash, crude fiber, ADF, NDF, sugars, starch and phosphorus.
